The 3.0L Settlement Program for Generation 1 vehicles ended on September 30, 2019.
The 3.0L Settlement Program for Generation 2 vehicles ended on May 30, 2020.
Volkswagen, Audi, and Porsche have reached Settlements involving 3.0-liter Volkswagen, Audi and Porsche diesel vehicles with the United States Department of Justice (“DOJ”) on behalf of the Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”), the California Air Resources Board (“CARB”), the California Attorney General, the Federal Trade Commission and current 3.0-liter vehicle owners/lessees and certain former owners/lessees.
Under the Settlements, Volkswagen has agreed to:
On October 20, 2017, the EPA and CARB approved Emissions Compliant Repairs for the “Sub-Generation 2.1 and 2.2 SUV” vehicles shown in the below chart and, on December 18, 2017, the EPA and CARB approved Emissions Compliant Repairs for the Generation 2 passenger vehicles shown in the below chart. On May 18, 2018, the EPA and CARB approved an Approved Emissions Modification for Generation 1.1 vehicles. On July 13, 2018, the EPA and CARB approved an Approved Emissions Modification for Generation 1.2 vehicles. Volkswagen is permitted to proceed with offering repairs for those vehicles. Class Members will be able to obtain the repair at an authorized Volkswagen, Audi, or Porsche dealer, plus receive an associated Repair Payment.
If you already submitted a claim and selected an Emissions Compliant Repair or Approved Emissions Modification as your remedy, you do not need to do anything. Volkswagen will process your claim in the normal claims review process. If you have not yet created an account and/or submitted supporting information and documentation for your claim, you can submit a claim through the Online Claims Portal or the Paper Claims Form. To date, the EPA and CARB have approved an Emissions Compliant Repair for the following Generation Two vehicles: (i) model year 2013-2016 Volkswagen Toureg 3.0-Liter TDI vehicles, (ii) model year 2013-2016 Porsche Cayenne Diesel 3.0-Liter TDI vehicles, (iii) model year 2013-2015 Audi Q7 3.0-Liter TDI vehicles, and (iv) model year 2014-2016 Audi A6 quattro, A7 quattro, A8, A8L, and Q5 3.0-Liter TDI vehicles. The EPA and CARB have approved an Approved Emissions Modification for the following Generation One Vehicles: (i) model year 2009-2012 Volkswagen Touareg 3.0-Liter TDI vehicles, and (ii) model year 2009-2012 Audi Q7 3.0-Liter TDI vehicles.
A look-up tool is available through www.vwdiesellookup.com, www.audidiesellookup.com/ or www.porschediesellookup.com where owners and lessees, and potential future owners and lessees, can enter a VIN and determine (i) if an emissions compliant repair is approved for their vehicle, (ii) if that repair has been completed on their vehicle, and (3) the terms of any applicable extended emissions warranty.
